Fortuna la Súper F — Israel Domingo Rodríguez de la Cruz, born in Santo Domingo on 5 April 1992 — is a Dominican producer, songwriter and singer. His work sits on other people’s records more than on his own.

Eleven and fifteen

He began writing songs at eleven. At fifteen he built himself a recording studio at home in Santo Domingo, which in 2007 meant a computer, an interface and whatever room could be soundproofed with what was to hand.

That is the standard origin story of the current generation of Dominican producers, and it explains why so many of them write, produce, mix and shoot the video themselves: nobody was going to do any of it for them.

ilumiNATTI

His largest credit is on ilumiNATTI, the 2019 debut album by the Dominican singer Natti Natasha. He worked on the writing and production of Lamento Tu Pérdida, Oh Daddy and Ya Lo Sé, alongside Natti Natasha herself and the producer Gaby Music.

That album put a Dominican woman at the front of the reggaetón mainstream, and a Dominican writer-producer was inside it doing the work.

He has kept writing for others since — Vicio among them — and his catalogue sits within Sony Music Latin.

Under his own name

He records too. Fiesta y Gozadera came in November 2022 and No Me Llames in January 2023, alongside a run of Christmas records — Estamos en Navidad, Diciembre Sin Ti, Mi Regalo and Hasta la Otra Navidad — which is its own Dominican tradition.

He directs music videos as well, and runs companies in film and audio. The billing describes a producer who decided early to own the whole chain rather than rent parts of it.
