Jay Miky Flow — Yefri Mecredy de la Cruz, born in La Romana on 16 December 1995 — is a Dominican singer and songwriter working across trap, rap, dembow and reggaetón.

Early years and formation

He was writing songs as a child. At twelve he went to work in the tourist trade, selling handicrafts, and he later moved to Punta Cana, where he finished learning English to a working level.

That is a common Dominican apprenticeship and it rarely gets mentioned: the eastern resort corridor employs thousands of young people from La Romana and Higüey, and a lot of the country’s urban artists learned to read a crowd there before they ever recorded.

The first singles

His first singles all came out in 2018 — Miradita Sensual, Tú y Yo, Loca Conmigo, No La Comparo and Baby Yo Te Quiero. Chael Produciendo handled the production on Tú y Yo.

They were enough to establish the name, and he has kept releasing since, one single at a time, in the manner the genre runs on.
