Snova — Marcos Peralta — is a Dominican urban singer and songwriter, born in Moca. He began writing and making music at fifteen.

Pasemos el Rato

The record that got him coverage was Pasemos el Rato, made with the Venezuelan singer Gustavo Elis and released in 2019. Diario Libre picked it up, and so did press in Mexico.

Reaching for a Venezuelan collaborator rather than a Dominican one is a particular decision. It skips the local queue entirely and aims at the wider Latin market from the first release.

The catalogue

Malcria and Milenials belong to the same period. Q*LO came later, with a video that found a large audience in 2024, and Ay Si and Open — the latter with Gabriel Pagán and Mark B — followed.

Moca is in the Cibao, a long way from where Dominican urban music is made and sold, and his work has moved between the country and the Dominican community in Canada.
